The Borough of Mount Ephraim, Office of Mayor Sue Carney, hereby announces that Letters of Interest are being received through March 8, 2024, from residents who would like to be considered to serve on the Joint Land Use Board. There are currently two (2) vacancies: a Class IV member and alternate member. Deadline to apply is March 8th.
The Land Use Board (LUB) functions under the authority of the Municipal Land Use Law of New Jersey. The Board examines existing and potential development in the Borough in accordance with state and local regulations. The duties of the Land Use Board members are to ensure that building, zoning, and uses or desired changes to the properties within Mount Ephraim are consistent with the Borough’s Master Plan, Borough ordinances, and the community’s vision for the town.
The members of the Board shall comply with and be bound by the provisions of the Local Government Ethics Law, N.J.S. 40A:9-22.1, et seq. and shall annually file a statement as prepared by the local Finance Board and the Division of Local Services, Department of Public Affairs. No member shall act in their official capacity where they or a member of their immediate family or business organization in which s/he has a has an interest, a direct or indirect financial or personal involvement which may reasonably be expected to impair their objectivity or independence of judgement.
The Board meets monthly on the second Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The appointment is an unpaid, volunteer position. Must be at least 18 years of age, a Mt Ephraim resident and willing to be interviewed by the mayor if deemed necessary.
Letter of Interest MUST include the following:
- Reasons for wanting to serve
- Include any education, volunteer or work experience, or civic involvement that applicant would like considered in the selection process.

- Incomplete submissions and those received after the March 8th deadline will not be considered.
