When are Taxes Due?
Real estate taxes are due:
February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1.
Is there a grace period?
There is a ten day grace period. Taxes received after the tenth day of the month in which they are due are considered to be late. Interest is charged back to the first day due at a rate of 8% on the first $1,500 and 18% on amounts over $1,500. If the delinquency goes over the $1,500 threshold, the rate will remain at 18% until the entire delinquency is resolved.
Where can I pay my taxes?
Taxes can be paid in person at the Tax Office located in the Borough Hall Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Taxes may be paid by check, money order, or cash. Tax payments may also be mailed to the Tax Office at 121 S. Black Horse Pike, Mt. Ephraim, NJ 08059. If you wish to have your tax bill receipted and returned to you, please enclose a self addressed stamped envelope with your payment. If you choose to use your check as your receipt, please enclose the appropriate quarter stub with your payment. For your convenience, a lock box is located on the rear wall of the Borough Hall near the entrance to the Tax Office. The box is to be used only for payments being made by check–no cash.
